The Rinzai school

Zen practice at the Falaise Verte Zen Centre follows the tradition of the Rinzai school of Japanese Zen Buddhism. The spiritual founder of the Centre is Yamada Mumon Rōshi, a major figure of Japanese Buddhism in the post-war period.
Sesshin

A sesshin is a weekend or a week of intensive Zen practice in a group. Sesshins at the Falaise Verte Zen Centre are open to all and do not require any prior experience.
Zazenkai

Regular Zen sessions (called zazenkai in Japanese), open to all, are organised at the Falaise Verte Zen Centre and in several towns in France and Belgium.
Retreat

Retreats at the Falaise Verte Zen Centre are open to people who have already taken part in a sesshin. They allow you to devote yourself to Zen practice in the favourable setting of the Centre, sharing life with the residents: chanting sūtras, zazen, eating meals in silence and samu.
